Bugzilla – Bug 2628
JVC_Remote
Last modified: 2006-07-14 09:16:07 UTC
Need to turn of the JVC_Remote when using Squeezenetwork. Have a JVC Stereo/DVD player. Regards /Bernt
Raising priority, this is becoming more pertinent as more people are using Squeezenetwork.
Kevin should we default this off when setting up a new player on SN?
Adding Kevin to CC. Kevin: should we default this off when setting up a new player on SN?
Added a setting to select remote controls. Please test on sntest.
Please reopen this bug. I have a JVC home theater system (TH-C50) and its remote control keeps turning my new Squeezebox3 on/off and changing the volume. I logged onto SqueezeNetwork, selected my SB3, unchecked the JVC Remote option under preferences and committed the change, but whenever I use SqueezeNetwork, the JVC remote controls both the HTS and the SB3. I tested the similar feature on SlimServer, and it works correctly there. When I'm logged into SlimServer, the JVC remote does not change the volume or turn the SB3 on/off.
Hi Steve, So after changing the setting on Squeeze Network, your JVC remote still controls the Squeezebox. If you go BACK to the Squeeze Network web site, is the 'JVC DVD Remote' box still unchecked? Or has it become checked again somehow?
When I go back to SqueezeNetwork it remains unchecked. I tried checking/unchecking the box while the SB3 was connected to SqueezeNetwork, and I even deleted the SB3 and readded it to see if that would have any effect. No luck.
I found a JVC remote, and sure enough, this is happening again.
Should be fixed. Chris will test.
Appears fixed on the test server. I've tested the other SN functionality too, and it looks good.
Andy notes he doesn't want to kick all users off to push this fix, so end users won't see this fix until the next maintenance restart (24-36 hours from now, 1:45pm PDT (20:45 UTC) 10 July 2006.)

Thanks for the FAST turnaround. Let me know when I should verify the fix and if there are any special steps I need to take to do that.
Working correctly today. Excellent!
For me as well. I'll go ahead and mark it closed.
