Description roos 2005-11-21 23:01:55 UTC
Current SlimServer only allows for a single Music Folder. I've found this to be a problem atleast for windows networks where the server is on one machine and the music files are stored on multiple drives on another. The shortcut to another drive does not work when scanning mapped drives. So if u say have mapped drives from another machine to X: Y: Z: then set your music folder to X: with shortcuts to Y: and Z: on X: it will not follow the shortcuts because it just sees them as a .lnk file not a actual link. Obviously if u want to store music on the local machine and on a server and say maybe even on a 3rd machine I cant find a way with the current system to get slimsever to read from all these points. It would be nice if you could put in as many Music Folder entries as you wanted in the server settings and slim would just scan each one in a row. You could do it like multiple email addresses ie: X:\Music; Y:\DATA\Music; Z:\mp3z; \\network\machine\folder\bleh; c:\temp\downloads\new music

etc etc etc
