Description tony lopez 2005-11-19 08:45:58 UTC
After new music was added via iTunes and the music library scan is completed the new albums aren't found or only a few new songs from the album show up. Rescanning a few times usually fixes the problem.

1. rip CD using itunes to AAC
2. close itunes
3. rescan music library via the server software

result
1. either the new album doesn't appear or only a few songs from the album appear

expected
1. the entire new album should appear

I'm getting this behaviour too, with 6.2.1, osx/10.3. It seems that after rescanning, songs are now lost that used to appear. I would expect that anything in iTunes that is mp3 should appear in the slimp3 search and browse, but they are not.

I downloaded the latest 6.2.2 build and the problem persists.

most likely suspect here is the iTunes rescan being triggered during the rip-and-encode process and the timestamp for the folder not being updated again when complete. to prove, try setting iTune reload interval to 0 to disable all automatic rescanning of iTunes. This can be found in server settings->iTunes. Then rip a new CD. After it is complete, start a manual (look for new and updated) scan from server settings. It is also possible that simply setting the reload interval back to something non-zero will also work fine AFTER the CD is ripped and encoded.

hrm, actually, this looks very much like bug 2410. might be best merging the two.

Is this still an issue with the latest 6.2.2 nightly build?

Thanks.

Closing. Please reopen if you can reproduce in the 6.3 version.
