Description Peter Oosterhoff 2005-11-09 12:11:33 UTC
Since updating to slimserver 6.2 my SliMP3 player is not found after a reboot or a server restart.
The webinterface shows the message that no player was found. Power cycling the player solves the problem until the next reboot.

The problem only occurs when the web-interface is openened in my default browser Maxthon, which provides tabbed browsing using the IE engine.

Opening localhost:9000 in IE immediately solves the problem (in Maxthon as well). There seems to be some browser dependency in the web interface.
Older versions of slimserver seemed to work OK when running the web-interface from Maxthon.

Peter: is the IP address changing on your server computer?

Hi Dean

The IP does not change. The DHCP lease is set that long that the IP for both server and slimp3 has not changed for at least a year.
I get the same results when I assign the same IP static in the slimp3 player.
Also see forum thread for my setup:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18043

It seems there is not really a strong browser link after all. When i stop and start the server it just takes 15-45s before the web interface finds my slimp3 again. By testing first in maxthon and then IE I got the idea it was IE that caused the slimp3 to be found again.

When rebooting the PC I can only get it to work again after power cycling the slimp3.
It looks like I have another sort of problem. Feel free to cancel this bug.

Can you tell me where to find older Win32 installation versions of slimserver so I could check if it is really related to 6.2?
