This is a huge problem, and it really needs to be addressed somehow.

It is not possible for SlimServer to access smb shares unless they are completely open.  Several smb servers don't even allow this.  We need a way to supply authentication and open an smb share.

Um.. what's the context here?

For what purpose would SlimServer use SMB?

SMB is unrealistic. Addressing the core problem in bug 4131

This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released!  Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
