Description Jack Coates 2005-11-04 08:17:51 UTC
player 1 is sb2, player 2 is sbg.
synchronized power is set to on.
de-synchronize player 1 from player 2 using the remote.
Turn off player 1 using the remote, both players go to off.
Turn on player 1 using the remote, player 2 stays off.
re-synchronize players using the remote, player 2 stays off.
start a playlist, player 2 plays the music too, but its screen remains in
off-state. Remote functions are all unavailable except the power button.
Pressing power makes the screen come on, showing "Welcome to Squeezebox" and
interrupting playback on both players.

Potentially another bug, but every time this situation replicates, Repeat is set
from Off to All on both players.

adrian, any ideas here?

jack, is this happening in 6.2.1 or 6.5 as well?
Comment 2 Adrian Smith 2005-11-04 11:51:54 UTC
Are there only two players (or are there others in the syncgroup or
potentially used to be in it?) [With the latest fix I added, on unsyncing the
last two players all sync state should be removed]

What specific version of 6.2?
Comment 3 Adrian Smith 2005-11-04 12:20:17 UTC
Jack - I don't see this on trunk [well the first bit]. Do you have syncPower
set to on for all players? Could you post the output of the sync debug when
you unsync them?
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2005-11-04 15:22:48 UTC
I can't reproduce this on the trunk or the 6.2.1 branch. d_sync output would be
most welcome....
Comment 5 Jack Coates 2005-11-04 17:10:57 UTC
It was 6.2.0, just upgraded to slimserver-2005_11_04-1.noarch.rpm

player 1 is sb2, player 2 is sbg.
synchronized power is set to on.
de-synchronize player 1 from player 2 using the remote.
Turn off player 1 using the remote, _only player 1 goes off now_.
Turned player 2 off and on using remote, player 1 remains off. Repeat setting is
correct as well.

I hate to say it's mysteriously fixed, but I didn't take a debug trace before
trying the nightly. I replicated twice before opening the bug.
