Consider me one more !

It's a shame slim currently require you to either downgrade the security of your
wireless network or purchase a seperate (expensive) CAT5 <-> 802.11 adapter.

The sheer quantity of encrypted data packets radiating away from a WEP encrypted
wireless LAN with a Squeezebox playing, means it is trivial to uncover even a
104-bit WEP key in a very short space of time using modern tools like aircrack.

I dont believe that WPA is the beginning and the end of securing a network, but
I can't help but feel slightly paranoid that anyone in the apartments I have
line-of-sight to, could uncover my WEP key, given kismet/airodump and a few hours.

Is there a provisional timeframe for WPA being supported, version 6 perhaps ?

I hope You will not concentrate all your energy on the Squeezebox 2 and still
maintain the SqueezeBox1 - wireless-B is not a big concern with regard to speed
(as long as you stream MP3), but with respect to security the addition of
WPA support would be a major improvement over WEP.

SlimDevices, PLEASE live up to your indication in the FAQ that it is your
intention to support WPA on the Squeezebox 1!

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, were unable to obtain updated wireless drivers from the card
manufacturer, so it seems very unlikely that we'll get WPA support in the original Squeezebox. (Heck
we can't even get the cards anymore...)

It's out of our control. Squeezebox2 has WPA support AND more flexible drivers, so this kind of
problem should be minimized in the future.

So sorry.
