Since the 6.2 betas, when I launch softsqueeze, it appears to be dead. But what
happens is that the brightness seems to be turned off by default. It should be
on, or else an indicator should let the user know what the problem is.

Hopefully this will be fixed by the fix for bug 2344 when Richard updates 
Softsqueeze.

6.2 includes some code to ensure a real Squeezebox displays something when it 
turned on (forces the brightness to a non zero setting).  Unfortunately this 
equals the zero brightness setting on Softsqueeze..

This is fixed in Softsqueeze 2.1 (look for it in the nightlies)

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006.  I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
