Description KB Lee 2005-10-21 21:48:48 UTC
Music Library - consists of over 550 albums in flac format only. Majority of
them comprise of single flac CD image with external cuesheet (Type A). The
rest are individual flac file per track (Type B).

Last working nightly: 10-14

Problem description:
I upgraded to 10-21 from 10-14. In 10-21, (Type A) has stopped working. Error
message on SB2 was "Problem: Can't open file for:". (Type B) works normally.

In order to trace at which nightly the problem surfaced, I worked backward,
installed and tested 10-20, 10-19,... to 10-15. The problem seems to surface
starting 10-16. I am now running 10-15, which is working for both Type A and
Type B. This is a major fault. Pls correct ASAP. Thanks.

Please try the 10-24 nightly.

Thanks.
Comment 2 KB Lee 2005-10-24 04:43:02 UTC
Tried the 10-24 a moment ago. No. It did not work. Same as before.

The "Target Milestone" is set to "6.2.1". How far away is 6.2.1? This bug
affect the fundamental operation of the SB2. I think it ought to be fixed
quickly.
Comment 3 Dan Sully 2005-10-24 09:19:16 UTC
The issue is that I've been unable to reproduce it. Could you upload a cue sheet you are having issues
with? Thanks.
Comment 4 Dan Sully 2005-10-24 13:00:04 UTC
Also - what do you mean by "stopped working" - does the album/track show up in the UI, but you are
unable to play it?
Comment 5 KB Lee 2005-10-24 19:32:16 UTC
The problem started since 10-16 and remained even until the latest nightly.
Perhaps a diff between 10-15 and 10-16 could reveal the problem?

All albums and tracks were displayed correctly on SB2. When I select an album
or a track to play (Type A), the following error message would
appear "Problem: Can't open file for:". Same error whether cuesheet is Unicode
(UTF-8) or non-unicode.

(Type B) is working fine. I am away on a business trip so I do not have access
to the cuesheet of my library. I will send you a copy when I return home.
Thanks.
Comment 6 KB Lee 2005-10-24 19:34:52 UTC
BTW. I have over 450 cuesheets in my library. All of them (flac image +
external cuesheet) are unable to play. The problem is not limited to just
small number of cuesheets.
Comment 7 Dan Sully 2005-10-26 09:42:28 UTC
Please upload a cue sheet you're having issue with!

Thanks!

Dan, a sample cue sheet attached. Thanks.
Comment 10 Dan Sully 2005-10-27 09:34:21 UTC
And your flac file in that directory is called 'CDImage.flac' ?

Yes. See the attached directory structure and content in JPG.
Comment 13 Dan Sully 2005-10-27 09:58:38 UTC
And is this still broken for you using the 6.2.0 offical release?

It's working fine for me here.
Comment 14 KB Lee 2005-10-27 10:20:33 UTC
I have just installed and tested the 6.2.0 official release a moment ago.
Problem remains. The latest working release for me is the 10-15 nightly. Some
changes affecting cue sheet must have taken place between 10-15 and 10-16.
Comment 15 Dan Sully 2005-10-27 10:28:59 UTC
Ok. Can you run with --d_parse after setting your music directory to just that single cue + flac?

Comment 19 KB Lee 2005-10-28 03:01:33 UTC
Wonderful! Which nightly will it appear in? I supposed the fix would be
available in both the 6.2.x line and 6.5 branches. Right? Thanks alot.
Comment 20 Dan Sully 2005-10-28 09:22:04 UTC
Yes - both branches, and 10-28-2005 or later.
