Description Nigel Birch 2005-10-19 04:15:58 UTC
This is with "6.2b1 - 4687 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252" after a wipe database.
The options set are "Group compilation albums together", "List albums by all
artists for that album" and "Treat multi-disc sets as a single album".

Group discs works for non-VA albums but is broken for VA ones. VA albums appear
in the player and web interface as two albums with the same name. For example,
the comments in the first track on disc 1 are:

Format:  FLAC
Details: 44100 Hz Stereo, 1074 kbps, playtime 04:37
Tag:     FLAC
Title:   Theme From Shaft
Artist:  Isaac Hayes
Album:   The Best Of Blaxploitation
Year:    1974
Track:   1
Genre:   Pop
Comment: EAC (secure mode) + FLAC v1.1.1 -8
DISCNUMBER=1
SOURCEMEDIA=CD
replaygain_track_gain=-2.61 dB
replaygain_track_peak=0.988464
replaygain_album_gain=-6.09 dB
replaygain_album_peak=0.988555

The comments in the first track on disc 2 are:

Tag - Automatic Tag from filename Copyright (c) 2002-2003 Case
Version 2.0.39b, Compiled 2003-04-11

C:\Internet\Audio\FLAC\Pop\Various - The Best Of Blaxploitation (Disc 2)\01.flac

Format:  FLAC
Details: 44100 Hz Stereo, 853 kbps, playtime 02:59
Tag:     FLAC
Title: If You Want Me To Stay
Artist:  Sly Stone
Album:   The Best Of Blaxploitation
Year:    1981
Track:   1
Genre:   Pop
Comment: EAC (secure mode) + FLAC v1.1.1 -8
DISCNUMBER=2
SOURCEMEDIA=CD
replaygain_track_gain=-5.10 dB
replaygain_track_peak=0.915588
replaygain_album_gain=-6.09 dB
replaygain_album_peak=0.988555

I has thought that r4595 (http://svn.slimdevices.com/trunk/server/Slim/
DataStores/DBI/DBIStore.pm?rev=4595&view=rev) fixed this but perhaps it fixed
only the non-VA cases and I didn't bother looking at VA ones.

I don't think it's the differing DATE comment that's causing this. I can see
other VA multi-disc albums with the same DATE on every track that have the same
problem.
