Description Blackketter Dean 2005-10-16 10:52:35 UTC
SB2 does not seem to timeout or
fallback correctly to secondary name servers.

I configured a test, and added a bogus primary nameserver and a good
secondardy nameserver. After reconfiguring networking, I could no
longer connect to SqueezeNetwork, despite a valid secondary
nameserver.

This should be fixed in the 6.2b2 release and tonight's nightly.

W/svn4705 and firmware 25 I'm finding that with a bogus primary and a valid
secondary, I can't connect to SqueezeNetwork (the Connecting to SqueezeNetwork
message never goes away).

Mike, thanks for hanging in on this one. I've just checked in firmware 26, which will appear in tonight's
6.2 nightly release. I've tested it pretty hard here and it seems to be working. There was a subtle race
condition in the operating system's DNS client which was hard to unravel, but I think we've got it now.
Please give it a try and reopen the bug if you are still seeing issues.

Thanks, and as always, glad to help out.

I've verified the fixed for firmware 26. I think this will help reduce, by at
least a small amount, the number of reported problems connecting to
squeezenetwork.
