Description Peter Baeza 2005-10-13 13:17:35 UTC
Filenames containing swedish characters åäö will not be visible in Slimserver
when running on Red Hat Linux iso8859-1. The files will appear initially after
the first scan of the music directory, but disappear shortly thereafter
(possibly triggered by browsing from SLIMP3/SB2) dissappear. The files wil be
invisible when browsing folders but will still be visible when browsing
albums/artists. However trying to play files with swedish characters by
selecting them from album/artist browsing will only result in them being stopped
on the player. Using the same files on Slimserver 6.1.1 on Win XP will work. The
same problem exists both in Slimserver 6.1.1 / 6.1.2 and 6.2.

Files with uc-filenames with and without swedish characters

preserve directory-structure when unzipping and use these files as the music
directory in Slimserver

What version of Perl are you running? perl -v will tell you.
Comment 3 Peter Baeza 2005-10-16 06:36:05 UTC
Perl version 5.8.0
Comment 4 Dan Sully 2005-10-16 10:12:20 UTC
Please upgrade to something > 5.8.3 - anything less is quite broken with respect to Unicode handling.

Preferably 5.8.7
