Hm, that's odd.  Can you connect and force a firmware update by pressing and holding the BRIGHTNESS 
button?

Done that - still no 'S'

It's the same on both my SBs.

Is it just me again?  Another 'hidden' feature?

Ah, what version is your firmware?  Is this from a nightly release?
I believe that there is a bug in the 6.2 nightlies that can cause the name of your server to become 
corrupted.

Patrick, can you try the latest 6.2 nightly, firmware 23?  Is it fixed immediately?  If not, does it get fixed 
when going through setup?  Reopen the bug if it's not working right.

Seems to have cleared it immediately.

I never liked that '2' anyway - the top of it was clipped ...
