Bugzilla – Bug 2191
Now Playing Setting change by Add to Playlist next
Last modified: 2008-09-15 14:36:01 UTC
SB2/ubuntu/svn4406 I normally set the Player 'Now Playing Information' to 'Small Spectrum and Remaining Time'. But if I 'Add to current Playlist next' using the Player remote (Add-Hold), when the next playlist song starts the 'Now Playing Information' setting gets reset. I have observed one instance of it changing to Spectrum and Elapsed Time, and one of it changing to Spectrum. Strange ....
will try to reproduce.
Patrick, I can't reproduce this. Is it possible that you are pressing the NOW PLAYING button more than once and rotating through that way? Can you reproduce on demand?
After 'Add-Hold', I press 'Now Playing' to see the currently playing song. When that finishes and the added song starts, I press 'Now Playing' again and the Now Playing Info changes. I can reproduce this consistently. There may be other sequences that would reproduce it, but it's time consuming to investigate 'cos I have to walk back to the PC to reset each time! I noticed it a few times before connecting it to the 'Add to Playlist Next' step.
Right, you've discovered a feature! If you are already on the Now Playing screen, pressing Now Playing again will rotate you through the various display formats.
You can't be serious!!!! So if the brightness dims and I want to see the 'now playing' info, I press the 'now playing' button and it changes the format. Nah ... can't be right!
What about using 'Now Playing-Hold' for this feature? Or is that already taken?
I am deadly serious. :) Seriously, though, it's not something we've gotten other complaints about, and it's a feature that's pretty commonly used. Remember, this only happens if you are _already_ viewing the currently playing song, so there's no need to press it again. If you are in another place in UI it jumps you to the song without changing the format. So it's _multiple_ presses that change the format.
