Description alucas1966 2004-03-11 13:50:20 UTC
When the server is switched off, the squeezebox screen eventually blanks out.
If though a remote control is used, any one, the squeezebox looks for the
server and cant find it, often the screen will blank out after a while but at
other times the message relating to being unable to find the server remains on
the display permanently which is irritating. The only way of getting rid of it
is to switch off the squeeze or turn on the server, both of which are
inconvenient.

Also, when a non-squeeze remote is used, why have the squeeze wake up. Bit
annoying when watching movies in a dark room as the display is really bright.
Could you have the squeeze not display error messages unless the squeeze remote
is used? The logic being if I am using a Hitachi remote for example then I am
not wanting to interact with the squeeze.

With the latest firmware, the player should only wake up if buttons on the standard remote are pressed.
And then the display should blank out. Can you update to the latest firmware, available in the nightly
releases:

And verify that the behavior is fixed for you? Thanks.
