Description Hakan Tandogan 2005-09-17 14:08:26 UTC
To be precise, client settings should be able to override the browser refresh
timing.

While sitting at my laptop in my home network, a browser refresh time of 30
seconds is perfect.

When I'm streaming (transcoded to 160 Kbit/s) music to a softsqueeze at work, I
can barely manipulate the playlist before another refresh comes around and
reloads the page. My only workaround is to stop softsqueeze (because "pause"
doesn't stop data stream), wait a minute or so, fix the playlist and restart
softsqueeze with the new playlist.

Regards,
Hakan

listening to music, you really only need it to refresh on the order of several
minutes anyway, since the refresh is automatically set to a smaller time if the
song ending is near. you can set it to 20 minutes if you want, and it should
still refresh somehwere near the track change.
