Bugzilla – Bug 2142
press play on an album or playlist does not start playing
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:15:17 UTC
If ss server setting on server settings\behavior\play other songs in album is set to "play only selected song", then if you are at the playlist or album level and press play, the playlist or album will not start playing. This setting is/should be only for pressing play on a song within an album(or playlist i guess) per the description. I would suggest that the standard should be if you are on an album, artist or playlist name (not at the song level), and you press play, you should play the entire album, artist or playlist regardless of what this setting is for play only selected song.
I'm a little confused by your report. I think what you describe is exactly what the setting is for. Can give a little more detail?
Sounds like this means pressing play at the ALBUM level, as opposed to descending into the album and pressing play on one of the songs. Strangely, the code should already be ignoring this setting. I notice that the version is unspecified, so have you tried the latest 6.2 builds??
I am using ver 6.2 and firmware 22. Yes, you are correct, if you are at the ALBUM level or PLAYList level (not inside and album or playlist where you can actually view and pick individual songs) and you press play, it will not play the entire album or playlist if "play only selected song" is on.
now that is odd, becuase I am not seeing the same thing. Are you talking about the player UI or the web? Are you using browse Playlists, browse_albums, or Browse Music folder? All seem to be playing fine via remote and web. Could you supply the EXACT steps to cause the problem?
It seems to be working for me now. It could have been a delay before in wireless comm or random playing sorting and then when I pressed play on a playlist or album name, nothing happened because there was a delay, not because it doesn't work. Sorry for the inconvenience.
no problem. glad it's sorted.
