Description Kevin Pearsall 2004-03-05 14:07:57 UTC
Customer reported bug. Customer reports:
-------------------------------------
I set the screensaver to
Date/Time, set the timeout for 5 seconds then played a single song with
repeat set to OFF. I expected the screensaver to kick in 5 seconds after
the song ended but it never did.
-------------------------------------

I reproduced with 5.1.1 release. If you hit one button on the remote and let it sit for the configured
sleep timer interval, it will go to the screensaver... Just does not do it without being prompted.

I believe this relates back to a problem with animation. When the bottom line
is scrolling, it is a continuous loop. Screensaver checks is the server is
animating, and will not act as long as it is. I haven't found a workable way to
jump in and out of the animation routines once they start.

Would it be so bad if the screensaver forced the animation to stop? if so, I
can probably fix this.

I spoke too soon. Playing one song, repeat off, 5 second timeout, DateTime
screensaver. End of song, display dims after 5 seconds, then 5 seconds later it
switches to datetime.
