Description Blackketter Dean 2004-02-29 16:08:15 UTC
To take advantage of the "audiophile quality" MP3 decoder in some receivers.
Comment 1 Kevin Pearsall 2004-03-17 13:17:12 UTC
My Rotel RSP-1066 actually supports this too...
Comment 2 Blackketter Dean 2004-03-17 13:23:49 UTC
Kevin: Why is this important to you? Or is it?
Comment 3 Kevin Pearsall 2004-03-17 13:51:26 UTC
It's not really that important to me, I just figured I'd let you guys know that my Rotel supports it, and I
could test it if you added that as a feature. I don't even use the digital outputs on my Squeezebox at
home, I use the analog outputs...with 320kbps mp3.
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2004-04-10 10:20:27 UTC
Another use of this is for MP3 streaming stations that use sample rates that aren't supported in S/PDIF.
Comment 5 Kevin Pearsall 2004-07-09 16:58:55 UTC
Marking as a duplicate of 180, however, I have gotten a few requests for this over the past week.

Sounds like people want to use this for getting around the mp3->pcm over spdif dropping out on track
transition problem...
