Description Kevin Pearsall 2005-08-11 11:48:27 UTC
I've gotten quite a few calls about this recently. Going in later and running
'slim.exe -install' works fine, but during installation it seems to fail fairly
often.

Still gathering information about what spyware/internet
security/security/antivirus/firewall software folks might have to start making
correlations, though...

Kevin, does that email about admin privileges that I sent you earlier today apply here?
Comment 2 Kevin Pearsall 2005-10-06 15:49:02 UTC
yes, admin priveleges does apply, but i still have not been able to reproduce
this issue otherwise.

most of the time this happens, the user DOES have admin priveleges...

many users reporting this today!

tonight's nightly should address this, at least in part, by trying to install the service, if it fails, try again,
and if it fails again, show a warning. I'm going to close the bug, please reopen if you get another case
with the new builds and note any error messages that you may see.
