Description jasonkosowan 2005-07-26 11:52:37 UTC
After speaking with a slim devices representative, I've been told that there is
currently no facility to allow uploading of an mp3 file via the SlimServer web
interface. Just a suggestion, but I'm sure that this type of feature would be
very convenient.

It would also mean a security nightmare. Yes, it could be disabled, but we all
know that will not be considered sufficient. If the feature exists, users are
going to demand that they be allowed to use it and still expect complete
security. can't vote against items, so this comment serves as my input.

Jason: can you talk a little about how you envision people using this facility?
Comment 3 Hans Palm 2005-10-28 03:54:39 UTC
This would be very useful! The feature can be disabled at installation and
perhaps it should also require user identification with password. Upload shall
only be allowed in the music folder inluding subdirectories. No restrictions on
file type or length (or perhaps a configurable max length).

Additional comments on how I envision people using this facility. Suppose I'm
visiting a friend and I want to copy some mp3 files (or other files), I can use
the web client to upload the files directly to my computer instead of using
some external media or mail (mail usually has maximum size limits).

Dean doesn't work here any more :)

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
