Is it possible to makes the menus on the SB2 NOT animate when scrolling 
through them at speed.  

I think the animations look great, but it can be difficult to read the text 
when trawling through a long list of artist etc as the text is constantly 
moving.

One way to improve this behavior would be while doing a fast scroll 
through a long list to not use the scrolling animation, rather just 
an update. That way the display remains clearer and we don't need 
another option.
