Description Kevin Pearsall 2005-07-20 10:56:05 UTC
If you have 2 sb2s synced, or an sb2 synced with either sb1 or slimp3. i think
this is due to the rebuffering that occurs when a new track starts while sync'd...
Comment 1 Blackketter Dean 2005-09-07 15:12:31 UTC
This is only possible with multiple sb2s, crossfading needs to be disabled when we're syncing with
anythign that's not a SB2.
Comment 2 Chris Owens 2006-08-16 13:43:55 UTC
This may get fixed with other sync problems.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2007-10-22 16:42:05 UTC
Alan, is this fixed?
Comment 4 Alan Young 2007-10-22 23:48:41 UTC
No, this is not fixed. Fixing this, and also gap-less sync, is difficult. There are very many places in the server code where assumptions about behaviour when synced inhibit fixing this. We might consider changing this to an enhancement, stating explicitly that gap-less and crossfade are not supported when synced.
Comment 5 Blackketter Dean 2007-10-23 07:14:55 UTC
Will reconsider post 7.0.
Comment 6 Steve Smith 2007-11-11 03:39:52 UTC
This is a serious problem for Classical Music albums which are nearly all 'gapless' as the ambiance in the recording hall continues from track to track. Very few classical recordings will fade to black between, for example, the movements of a Symphony. It also produces very odd glitches between the gapless tracks on albums like Pink Floyds Division Bell. I would advise against investment in multi-room systems for synchronised playback until this is fixed.

Fixed by new-streaming changes in 7.3
Comment 8 James Richardson 2008-11-19 13:00:02 UTC
Verified SC 7.3 r23960

I was unable to hear any re-buffering errors, or audio gaps during playback.
Comment 9 James Richardson 2008-12-15 12:36:24 UTC
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
