Description Marc Bodson 2015-07-29 13:33:59 UTC
I use a Logitech Classic client. I am extremely happy with it :)

I play media stored on the family iMac (16GB RAM, OSX Yosemite fully up-to-date).

I recently purchased a WD Mycloud NAS and relocated the itunes library to a shared folder (no pwd, public share).

By means of the control panel LMS controller app, I pointed the LMS to the shared media folder on the NAS (>>> /volumes/iTunes).

The NAS share containing the media is mounted automagically when I login.

When I log off my user account the client is able to continue accessing the media library, even after waking frol sleep.

However, when I reboot the iMac, the LMS is unable to follow the stated path (/volumes/iTunes) and to mount the public share in order to access the media. The client gives back an error message stating 'Can't find the file'.

I tried to configure an 'automount' share using a utility called NFS Manager but that did not succeed because creating autmounts requires a directory service.

I created an alias of the share and stored it in the iMac's shared (public) area and configured the LMS control panel to point it but the LMS media locater does not see the alias file itself, it resolves the alias to the shared volume.

Is it possible to get this issue addressed somehow ? I mean the have the LMS mount the shared media at boot time without having a user to log in.

Kind Regards

Please join the community at forums.slimdevices.com. This is not a bug, but a configuration question: if LMS is being started before the drive has been mounted, it obviously would fail to read it. You'll have to find some way to auto mount it, and make sure that LMS is only started after this has happened.

Unfortunately this is beyond the scope of LMS development. But maybe one of the knowledgeable and helpful community members will be able to help you. Thanks for your understanding!
