I have the original SLIMP3 player.

One of the features of this unit was an adjustable bass/treble.

With the versions of the LMS I've been running these past couple of years, it doesn't adjust the way I'd think it should.

First, after installing a fresh copy of LMS (right now I'm using LogitechMediaServer-7.9.0-1414759442.exe), both bass and treble are set to the maximum (+23), with the sliders all the way right.

I can slide the sliders to zero, which you'd think would be the "flat" response, seeing as the sliders slide from -23 to +23. But if I move either slider into negative territory and then click on "apply," I get 'Invalid value "-9" for treble' where the -9 is any negative value I attempt to use.

When I experiment, I think the sound when the sliders are set to approx. 12 is flat. I came to this conclusion by listening to the same tracks using my notebook as the source.

But my recollection was that the SLIMP3 allowed 0...100 as the bass and treble settings, and 50 was middle. It would be kinda nice if I could get that functionality back.

Patch for player/audio.html for Squeezebox

This bug has been around for many years now. Some months ago i created a little patch that fixed it for me from version 7.7.3 on, but i guess the same patch would apply to older versions, too.

I'm not sure, though, if this change should be applied conditionally to respect other player types. In my case, it does the right thing with a "Squeezebox", Firmware 40.

Werner - thanks for your patch. But it would most likely break other players (Boom) the same way the current implementation breaks SliMP3. I'll have to see what I can do there. Time to un-box my SliMP3 :-)
