Description Ludovic 2014-07-10 17:36:11 UTC
Hello I run SSODS4.14 with LMS7.8 nightly without any problem.
I'm able to install LMS7.9 but as soon as the scanning is starting, it finds the number of files but a message comes saying "an unexpected error appeared" and I find nothing in the logs.
My library is mainly composed of AIFF files 16/24b and no difficulty with LMS7.8.

Thanks for your support

Ludovic

Do a full rescan with the logg settings to debug for scanning ( in advanced settings in the web UI ) it should cath some things in either server.log or scanner.log .
Do zip and upload the complete files .

You should also continue your tread in the forum for higher visibility and link to the bug so more people can see your log files .

I can't really help you ,hopefully some other person with SSODS can help in the forum .
Comment 2 Ludovic 2014-07-13 07:42:16 UTC
Ok I will do that because through server log and scanner log in ssods I can't see anything. Just a message during the scan saying that an unexpected error came...
I will keep posting in the forum thread.
Thanks for your support

Would you know what CPU your NAS is using? What Audio::Scan version is LMS 7.9 reporting in Settings/Information?
Comment 6 Ludovic 2014-07-21 11:15:49 UTC
Hello Michael,

I'm running a DS713+ (Intel Atom D2700 x86_64). i know another person on slimdevice forum has the same problem with same CPU.

So LMS 7.8 is OK. If I upgrade to LMS7.9 without CPAN, it works but the Audio::Scan remains at v0.93 what is a problem for me to play natively aiff files.

If I upgrade or fresh install to LMS7.9 (full with CPAN), to the Audio::Scan is v0.95 but as soon as I want to scan the library it fails.

Thanks for your support

FWICT the issues we're seeing are all on Linux i386 systems running Perl 5.10. I reverted the Audio::Scan build for these systems in LMS 7.9. Could you please give the next nightly build another try?
Comment 8 Ludovic 2014-07-21 16:15:14 UTC
Hello, just tried with the "logitechmediaserver-7.9.0-1405949730.tgz".
Installation was OK, the audio::scan is 0.94 and it seems that it started.
But after few seconds it stopped on a file and nothing else. But no error message sayiing "un-expected end of scanning". I'm going to upload the log files in a couple of minutes.
Thanks for your support

Just tried with the latest NB Build (1406021732) : same problem.

Could you please wipe your cache folder and try again. If it still fails, please provide the scanner.log file, too.
Comment 13 Ludovic 2014-07-22 13:28:42 UTC
Hello, can you remind me how to clean the cache : I would have remove all the file s from /opt/ssods4/SqueezeBoxServer/....cache and redo a clean scan from scratch ?

Yes. I don't know where the cache is stored on SSODS, but that seams reasonable. Just delete the cache.db and library.db files.
