Also note reported in: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?97234 Attempted load of LMS 7.7.3r1375965195 on XP. .Steps taken start with dot (.) [comments in sq. brackets] .Loaded XPpro-sp2 Dell installation on a newly formatted disk .Ran all the updates to get me to sp3 with no more updates required. .Installed LMS 7.7.3 with no errors. [LMS would not start from control panel. Similar to other reports. No log was created and Diagnostics reports 'Possible Software conflict'. Disabled firewall - no joy. Single user and no UAC in XP. Assumed it was XP 'protecting' me with firewall and 'malicious software' restrictions. Note that there was no suplimental anti-virus or other 'protection' installed.] .Reformatted. .Reloaded XPsp2. .DID NOT UPDATE. .Attempted to load LMS - errored with req. that I install Msi3.1 from MS. [Installation did complete.] .Same results. [Assumed possible corruption due to old Msi.] .Reformatted. .Reinstalled XPsp2. .Installed Msi3.1 (KB893803-v2-x86). .Installed LMS with no errors. [LSM would STILL not start. Same 'Possible software conflict found.'] .Loaded ProcExplorer to see what process was failing. [Noted that SqueezeSvr would load while the tray icon blinked then would unload after failing.] .Ran SqueezeSvr from 'Run' menu. [Noted there was some message - flash and gone.] .Ran SqueezeSvr from cmd window and got the following message: [--quote--] C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server>SqueezeSvr.exe The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Logitech Media Server : Audio::Scan: Can't load 'auto/Audio/Scan/Scan.dll' for module Audio::Scan: load_file:The spec ified module could not be found at /<C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\SqueezeS vr.exe>DynaLoader.pm line 221. at perlsvc line 615 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 133) line 2. To fix this problem you have several options: 1. Install the latest version of the module(s) using CPAN: sudo cpan Some::Modul e 2. Update the module's package using apt-get, yum, etc. 3. Run the .tar.gz version of Logitech Media Server which includes all required CPAN modules. Undefined subroutine &main::main called at slimserver.pl line 101. [--/quote--] [It appears that the windows compiled executable is missing include files. (Audio::Scan).] Additional note: I unloaded Squeezbox7.7.3 and installed & configured v7.6.1. All was well with the world - until it noted a 'new' version was available and installed 7.7.3r1375965195. I am back at the beginning. Aurgh. If you wish additional diagnostics, let me know.
