Due to the fact that I work on a Macbook I would prefer to use the standard-fs for backups etc. An other side-effect would be to get rid of all (FAT32-specific) errors with certain characters etc.

If it is only possible as with read-only-capabilties, a small FAT-partition could be given e.g. on a SD-card or on a small partition of the same hd for the squeezebox-folders, where write privileges are needed.
