Description Lars Simonsen 2012-02-28 12:03:27 UTC
I run LMS beta 7.7.2. I have two Radios with the battery pack.

Sometimes, when I hold the POWER button for 2 seconds to turn it off, the Radio does so, but immediately boots again (Free your music).

On the second try, it turns off and stays off.

Others have the same experience. See forum posts:

http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Squeezebox-Players/Radio-restarts-when-I-try-to-turn-it-off/td-p/801821

My Radios have behaved like this since at least December 2011.

I'm running LMS beta 7.7.2-r33866 and have a Squeezebox Radio running 7.7.1-r9557 and I have the exact same problem.

I've just tested a bit, when this might happen and it looks like, the problem happens, when an alarm goes off and you try to turn off the unit afterwards.

You're absolutely right. I did some further testing last night and this morning. Last night:

I turned the radio off. It rebooted.
I turned the radio off. It stayed off.
I turned it on.
I turned the radio off. It stayed off.
(So it's not an every-second-time issue.)
I turned it on.

This morning I woke before the alarm (unbelievably).

I turned the radio off. It stayed off.
(So the issue is not triggered by some hours of inactivity.)
I turned it on.
The alarm went off. I deactivated the alarm.
I turned the radio off. It rebooted.
I turned the radio off. It stayed off.

So it does seem like it's the alarm that sets the "let's reboot next time instead of shutting down" flag somewhere.

Interestingly I've tried something different this morning.

Instead of pressing the POWER button until the "powering down" screen appears, I continued pressing it for several seconds longer so when I released it, the unit turned off instantly, and it stayed off, without rebooting.

Maybe this can count as a workaround until the problem gets fixed.
