This must have been introduced in one version, because the controllers reaction time was way better in older versions of Squeezecenter/Server. 
The Problem:
You have a playlist filled. Don't like the current track, press "Next" on the Duet Controller - it takes 1-2-3 seconds until the next track is played. Older versions skipped instantly. 
Receiver is connected via LAN cable, Controller is connected to WLAN. But I have also tried Bridge connection, no change.
