Description Mikael Nyberg 2012-02-24 23:46:16 UTC
Scanning is probably finished and done but no UI updates and LMS still thinks it is scanning .

Las line in the log

[12-02-25 08:28:50.4197] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (793) ERROR SCANNING audio file file:///media/sdb1/music2/Bandcamp/The%20Woodlands%20-%20The%20Woodlands/The%20Woodlands%20-%20The%20Woodlands%20-%20The%20Woodlands%20-%20Can%20We%20Stay%20Video.mp4: Unable to read tags from file

Some facts .

I do not have video enabled for my music folder I run the server with --novideo --noimage --noupnp .

This does not always happen If the dB is fresh from a clear and rescan things works and scanner can pass this file without a problem , but after a while this is likely to happen ? does the dB rot in some funny way ?

Sometimes it passes this error and continue to handle the artwork etc

I'll upload the album anyway the it's flac files and one music video (it's the music video that the scanner fails on )

This is critical as I can't keep my dB for more than 3 weeks then a rescann is needed thing in my fridge last longer .

I suspect that no dB optimization/analyze is done after this point either

I've been seeing something like this for quite a while - I think as soon as I went to LMS. I run a scan for new/changed every night, and at random, the scan is in the not finished state. I see nothing in the server log, and can't see to get the scanner to log anything no matter what logging options I set.

I have no video.

it makes a difference if one start the scan from the button at the side of the

Media Folders entries or at the Rescan Media Library button ?
it actually properly finishes the scan even now when my dB is not pristine.
(I keep it in that shape for a while if someone needs data )

Does it not respect the folder settings from the Rescan Media Library button ?

I'm seeing slightly different behavior.

Whenever the there is a .mp4 video file in the music scan path, the music scan will repeat itself.
