Description Paul Runyan 2005-07-09 01:18:19 UTC
After playing the spectrum analyser screensaver for long enough, the spectrum
analysis part eventually disappears leaving a blank display, except for the
small "now playing" text that periodically scrolls across the top of the
display. I can reset the display so that the spectrum analysis shows again by
pressing the "Now Playing" button, after the now palying display times out the
spectrum analysis appears again, for a while.

It usually seems to take between 5 and 15 minutes before the problem reoccurs.
I had the same problem when I was using version 13.

isn't this a dupe of bug 1675, as per the comment in that bug?

Paul, I haven't seen this before. What kind of audio are you playing?

Yes, this is a duplicate of bug 1675, sorry for creating confusion, I wasn't
sure if that bug was still considered active for version 14.

It happens when I'm playing audio files from my local SlimServer (which are
Apple Lossless), in fact it is happening right now. I believe I've also had
the problem when connecting to internet radio through my local SlimServer, but
I am not absolutely certain.

Once it goes blank, it stays blank (with the exception of the periodic
scrolling "no playing" text) until I manually kick the display by using the
remote to bring up the menu, "No Playing" or anything else. This seems to
reset it.

If there is any sort of action I can take to collect useful diagnostics when
this happens please let me know.

I hate that my only correspondance with you guys is complaints. It's a great
device and I'm impressed with the quality of the software and your dilligence
in improving it. Keep up the good work.
