Description Tim Passingham 2011-11-09 00:08:15 UTC
I started 7.7.0 with a clean system (no cache or preferences) and installed LMS as admin.

If I start LMS at startup (as an admin user), and my media library name has a space in it (eg Tims squeezebox), the UPnP/DLNA media server does not start. If I change the name to not have a space in it, stop and start LMS the UPnP/DLNA media server does start.

To try to be clear about this, LMS itself is running. My Touch can play music whatever the media library name. Further, my Touch can see photos in my media library. It's the UPnP/DLNA component that fails.

To prove this, I not only tried other devices on my wired network, but inspected the network on the PC server itself. Opening the 'Network' on the 'Computer', I see other UPnP/DLNA media servers, such as fooobar, whitbear and tversity. I do not see LMS unless the media library name does not have a space in it.

Moving on, I then left LMS starting at startup, as admin, and logged on as a normal user. On my system this also prevents the UPnP/DLNA media server from running. To get it to work I had to stop the LMS Windows service (note this is the 'service' created at startup) and start it again as admin (whilst still logged on as a normal user). The LMS UPnP/DLNA media server then showed up.

When I then installed my 3rd party plugins and rescanned my media library, the UPnP/DLNA media sever disappeared and I never got it to show up again.

With 'info' logging on the UpnP plugin I get:
