On my Mac, LMS does periodic rescans (about every few hours) even when there are no changes to the library if iTunes is running (maybe some automatic updates in iTunes, like podcasts or so, I don't know).

The bad part is that after the scan has finished, LMS tries to quit iTunes, I get a surprising message whether I really want to quit and stop my download whenever I load SW updates in iTunes.

This is OK if it was LMS which opened iTunes for the iTunes integration but it's wrong if iTunes was already running before.
