Bugzilla – Bug 17624
LMS 7.7 does not serve mkv or avi in playable way to Samsung series "c" TV's
Last modified: 2012-10-09 02:04:38 UTC
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit LMS 7.7 Nightly 33540 1)On Samsung I browse LMS folders and navigate to avi or mkv files 2)Samsung TV display unsupported file format on screen. These exact same files work with other UPNP servers. Eg minidlna, Mezzmo, TVersity, Twonky, Samsung PC Share. The TV is capable of playing these files without transcoding, AVI(divx,mp3) and MKV(h264, mp3) are supported.
LMS 7.7 serves content with MIME type: http-get:*:video/x-matroska:* http-get:*:video/avi:* Others serve content with MIME type: http-get:*:video/x-matroska:DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0 http-get:*:video/avi:DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0
Confirmed here on my Samsung UE40D5700 tv. I can browse video's, see thumbnails but the tv displays unsupported file when trying to play them.
