Description Mikael Nyberg 2011-09-29 11:31:00 UTC
I stumpled on this bug when I did some tag fixing.

I found two artist "Miles Davis" The looked identical in the Web-UI.
i then proceeded to use the view tags function and the artist looked identical there too ?

SBS regarded them as different artist for some reason.

Puddletag to the rescue the tags was " Miles Davis" vs "Miles Davis"
note the 2 spaces between Miles and Davis .

I can understand why the UI may be prettified some ok.

But not the view tag funtion it should show tags as they are

Please note that it's browser's (or HTML - I don't know) default behaviour to fold multiple whitespace into one. Unless you use a <pre> tag or replace simple spaces with the "non breaking space" &nbsp; entity

i've had suspicios in that direction ( our forum behaves the same ).
But then you know why and how to fix it :)

my thinking was that if SBS/LMS regards them as different artist that very difference should be plainly visible .

And it should look the same in web-UI or a controller or app .

but I would be perfectly happy if the view tag function showed the tags as they really are.

I did mark the bug as minor.

But as you saw this to can you make the bug confirmed ?
