What firmware version are you running on your device? Does it go through any scanning step before hitting that message?

i must say first, that sometimes it works ok. it's like it has good and bad days.

to describe the problem:
i insert USB stick. note appears saying "attaching USB device"
then i get a message about not removing the stick berore clicking "eject USB"
then i select start squeezebox server, and then it says "starting squeezebox server" with the cycling sircle. this goes on for about 30 seconds, and than i get an error saying "local music server stopped due to a problem" and i'm back at the screen where i can press start SB server.

i'm using the lastest firmware 7.6.1 r9486

i suspect that it has something to do with the option of sharing usb/sd device. since server never started while that option was disabled.

I happened to run into similar issues today where the scan would crash on folders with .GIF files in them. Do you know whether this might be the case for you too?
