Description jan.mortensen 2011-08-25 15:03:36 UTC
Survivor from 9704

... Most importantly the part about the scanning messages being mixed languages
e.g. "Rescanning Music Library... Gem coverbilleder i cachelager (1 of 708)"

Through all the scanning phases the first half in English, the second half in
Danish
SBS is setup for English and my Windows locale is Danish

IE9 seen on both Win 32/64

Heh... looking at the player name I wonder whether this is a problem with squeezeslave: if you were controlling a real player, whose language is set to English, would the message still be bi-lingual?

Looking at the code I do see that the first part is rendered in the page template, using the server's language setting (but hidden unless a scan is going on) . The second part is localized using the controlled player's language. I'm not sure you can set a squeezeslave's language, thus my question about what would happen if a real player was set to using EN. I must assume that squeezeslave is using your system's language. Which, from the browser's menu, seems to be rather Danish than English.

Good idea but no ;-)
It is the same with my receivers

The main web page shows:
   Rescanning Music Library...
Rescanning Music Library... Scanner nye filer (1936 of 9017)
Rescanning Music Library... Gem coverbilleder i cachelager (345 of 708)

Notice that the 2 * playlist scanning is so fast that I didn't get to see any information on them in the main web page.

Just noticed that in the "Music Scan Details" on the "Information" page the corresponding text is shown in english
"Scanning new files" = "Scanner nye filer"
"Pre-caching Artwork" = "Gem coverbilleder i cachelager"

Discovering files/directories: D:\musik (10538 of 10538) Complete 00:00:39
Scanning new files: D:\musik (9017 of 9017) Complete 00:03:36
Discovering playlists: C:\Users\bimmer\Music\Playlists (6 of 6) Complete 00:00:00
Scanning new playlists: C:\Users\bimmer\Music\Playlists (5 of 5) Complete 00:00:01
Pre-caching Artwork (708 of 708) Complete 00:00:33

The server has finished scanning your music collection.

Please shut down squeezeslave, SBS and the browser. Make sure all your devices and the server itself are set to English. Restart the server, clean the browsers cache and try again. Do NOT start squeezeslave. What other players do you have? Would you still get Danish?

At work now so no testing with hardware at the moment.

FYI. I only use SqueezeSlave at work, running against local SBS with USB drive.
At home I have 2 Receivers and 1 Controller.

I did a couple of test runs at home this morning just to confirm that I saw the problem there. But that was with the server PC started from hibernation.

Actually at some point recently one of my servers was suddenly running in Danish (SBS) and I changed it to English which is my default. Several SBS versions have been installed since, but not sure if my server had to be rebooted last patch tuesday....

I will give it a go again when I get home tonight.

Testing on my server win7-32 UK with Danish regional settings and keyboard.

Installed latest nightly, rebooted, still mixed language.

Uninstall SBS... about 15 min !!!
Clean registry and reboot
Install latest.

In advanced properties it is defaulted/set to Danish, change to English and change other settings and plugins... multiple restarts ensue....

Time to test... and it is still the same.

BTW the Tray app context menu is in Danish
ControlPanel app and web interface is in English
