Description Mickey Gee 2011-08-17 15:38:19 UTC
On Mac OS 10.7, using the Mac Preference Pane method of uninstalling Squeezebox Server appears to not kill running SBS processes. In this case, a "slimservice.pl" was running and wasn't killed.

When reinstalling new versions, there were issues since there were still remnants of previous installations still running. Could be issue during upgrade installation, and not sure why this was never seen previously.

Mickey - there's no such thing as a well defined uninstall on OSX. The method you're mentioneing is basically dropping a folder - no intelligence applied. We'd need to write our own uninstaller.

One more comment: this has "always" been this way, and it's never really been an issue. The average user will not try to uninstall before updating. He would just install on top of the existing installation.

The installer itself should check for a running SBS and kill it if required. I did test this successfully. Don't know why it didn't work for that one guy complaining.
