Remotes unable to connect to SBS running 7.6.0
Last modified: 2011-08-21 22:31:25 UTC
After upgrading SBS to 7.6.0 (from the previous version of 7.5.x) all our Squeezebox Duet Remotes are unable to connect to the server. Upon connecting, the local Squeezebox Receiver appears in the WebUI but the remote fails. The remotes are running a mixture of firmware versions and all are experiencing this issue. Looking at debugging logs on the remote its self I get the following: Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: INFO applet.AlarmSnooze - AlarmSnoozeApplet.lua:306 notify_playerCurrent(Player {GYG Head Office}) Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: INFO applet.NowPlaying - NowPlayingApplet.lua:422 enable volume UI in NP Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: INFO applet.SlimMenus - SlimMenusApplet.lua:1162 SlimMenusApplet:notify_playerCurrent(Player {GYG Head Office}) Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: INFO applet.SlimMenus - SlimMenusApplet.lua:1245 player changed from:Player {GYG Head Office} to Player {GYG Head Office} for server: SlimServer {streamingaudio} from server: SlimServer {streamingaudio} Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: INFO applet.SlimMenus - SlimMenusApplet.lua:1253 Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: Subscribing to /slim/menustatus/ Aug 5 17:46:26 squeezeplay: 00:04:20:18:0a:e4 Aug 5 17:46:27 squeezeplay: INFO squeezebox.server - SlimServer.lua:332 streamingaudio firmware=http://192.168.0.78:9000/firmware/jive_7.6.0_r9458.bin fo rce=false Aug 5 17:47:39 squeezeplay: WARN net.comet - Comet.lua:888 Comet {streamingaudio}: _response, /slim/request id=41 failed: request failed with error: Bad dispatch! I've done a roll back on the SBS server to the previous version and this has got the players working again for the moment. Please let me know if more logs are required.
I think I'm having the same problem. My Duet Controller doesn't do much of anything: 1) it only sees one of my three squeezeboxes, and can't even control that one; 2) it can't connect to my squeezebox server; 3) it can't bring up favorites, sirius, TuneIn Radio, or any other App. It can do the following: 1) Software update (reloaded 7.6.0 r9458) 2) Networking, Choose Network It's useless! iPeng works fine.
I can't reproduce this in my setup, I've tried with both: - SBS 7.6.1 r33110 and Controller firmware 7.6.1 r9482 - SBS 7.6.0 r32859 and Controller firmware 7.6.0 r9458 Is there a specific combination of SBS version and Controller firmware that doesn't work or is the problem related to a specific type of player ? Are there any errors in the server.log of SBS ? It's important that you run the proper firmware on the Controller which is matching the SBS version, so if the controller is using 7.5.x firmware that's probably the issue, in that case just upgrade it to the 7.6.x firmware offered by the server.
