Description Steve 2011-08-03 15:13:05 UTC
With recent firmware upgrade of 07.6 there has been a change or bug with using the jog wheel to make the alarm off selection when alarm sounds.

1) Alarm goes off
2) Use the large knob to make UI selection to turn off alarm
3) If wheel is turned too quickly there is no selection change on UI.
You must use wheel very slowly, about 6 clicks before a you can select "alarm off".

This was not the case with the previous release.

Will start using power button, but using the large knob with 07.06 has become almost unusable for someone who just woke up.

I have notices the same problem. In addition, trying to choose "alarm off" with the remote (which is how I usually do it) does not work. I have to use the big button and as Steve says, it is very cranky and reluctant to move from the default "snooze" to "alarm off". You have to work at it.

FYI, the sticky knob on alarms is by design, and new in 7.6. The reason is that we had many many complaints of accidentally selecting alarm off when snooze was the intended selection. This made users _very_ angry. Thus->sticky knob for alarms.

IMO, though clearly not pleasing to those that have commented here, this is not a bug.

I have since discovered that if I wail on the remote button it will actually move the cursor to "alarm off", but it takes a really long time. I take your point about the snooze button for those who use it, I guess I will get used to it in time, but perhaps in a future revision you could make it just a little less sticky.
