Description slav 2011-06-05 20:08:27 UTC
not sure if this is a bug or by design, but either way I'm suggesting the behaviour be changed:

When syncing players, sync'd player inherits player being synced to shuffle & repeat settings (which is GOOD).

However, when "un-sync'ing" the player's original shuffle & repeat settings are not returned to previous state.

I would suggest this be changed so that the player's settings ARE restored to "pre-sync" previous state.

-------------------------------------------------

An example would be (which I go through almost every day when I sync my bedroom squeezebox to my living room squeezebox during the day, then unsync at night):

1. LivingRoomSB playing w/ SHUFFLE_PLAYLIST_BY_SONG & REPEAT_PLAYLIST
2. BedroomSB unsync'd w/ SHUFFLE_NONE & REPEAT_NONE
3. from BedroomSB sync to LivingSB (BedroomSB inherits LivingRoomSB settings, ie SHUFFLE_PLAYLIST_BY_SONG & REPEAT PLAYLIST - this is the desired behaviour)
4. from BedroomSB sync to NONE
5. at this point unsync is successful, however the shuffle & repeat settings are not returned to previous state, but remain at LivingRoomSB settings).

For me this doesn't make sense, as unsync'ing should not only unsync music stream but also any settings changed by initial sync.

Practically, this is somewhat annoying, as every night before I go to bed I unsync my bedroom SB and play a defined playlist I like to sleep to which I like to be in order, and once complete to stop - so every night after unsyncing I need to adjust the shuffle & repeat settings.

THANKS!!
