Bugzilla – Bug 17260
Implement Napster API v1.2
Last modified: 2011-09-19 04:14:57 UTC
This is a placeholder bug to summarize what changes we've applied to the Napster service for the Goldy release. Some of them can't be tested directly, but the service would fail if they weren't implemented correctly (eg. the new host names) - allow user to add tracks to his library - add "X-Forwarded-For" header to API requests - use new host connect.napster.com for api call for improved reliability (Akamai based) - user's "explicit" flag needs to be passed along with every request
When is this going live please? I still can't add to my Napster library via squeezebox. Thanks, Peter
Should be working already. How are you trying to do add tracks?
There is an "Add to library" option for tracks (which doesn't work), and there is no "Add to library" option for albums (which is what I actually want to do, and what used to work years ago). The only reason I'm not moving over to spotify at the moment is the lack of support for the native app on the squeezebox duet.
Add track to library doesn't work. Add album to library isn't available. Is there any plan to fix this? This is supposed to be part of the API 1.2, I'm told my Napster support. Should I open a new bug? I love Napster, I love squeezebox. It's a fantastic service. It's just such a shame that the customer support from both is so dire. Is it just woefully underfunded? Something incredibly simple like an "add to library" option which worked years ago, just disappears for months.... I would happily pay more to get some kind of response to customer requests. Believe it or not I don't like complaining, it is just so frustrating to use a service that is so nearly fantastic but doesn't seem to have any effort going into it.
