Description Paul Chandler 2011-05-23 16:21:11 UTC
1) Windows 7 32-bit. SBS 7.6.32453

2) Ripped a CD using Windows Media Player (not a compilation)

3) artwork shows in in Media Player library, but NOT in SBS (even after re-scans)

4) noticed file called "folder.jpg" was a hidden, system file. Used DOS prompt to change attribs (-s -h)

5) Re-scanned and artwork was visible in SBS

Ignoring system and hidden files and folders is by design. Otherwise we would end up scanning eg. Windows' offline-cache folders etc.

Erland says this is possibly an issue in 7.6. I wonder if a bunch of people use WMP to do this, and issue needs addressing.

See forum thread above for more info.

Doesn't svn r32931 which Michael committed last week in 7.6.1 nightly solve this ?
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2011-08-02 23:24:13 UTC
It does. Had a quick chat with Mickey earlier today. He was mislead by another WMP related artwork issue (embedded artwork in WMA files sometimes failing bug 17355 et al.)
