Some Amazon ID3 tags show up with Asian characters instead of English
Last modified: 2011-06-03 11:17:23 UTC
Created attachment 7296 [details] screenshot of Asian-ish ID3 info in Squeezebox Server for this mp3 file Squeezebox Server shows Asian characters instead of English for some ID3 info in some amazon.com downloaded MP3 files. However, other ID3 tools, such as "id3info" on Linux, properly show English for those files. The bad characters also show up in the Squeezebox LED display. A screenshot is attached. I can provide you with the MP3 file if needed. It is (from Amazon): "11 - Just Cant Get Enough.mp3". Linux "id3info" shows the following: *** Tag information for 11 - Just Cant Get Enough.mp3 === PRIV (Private frame): (unimplemented) === TIT2 (Title/songname/content description): Just Can^Yt Get Enough === TPE1 (Lead performer(s)/Soloist(s)): Black Eyed Peas === TALB (Album/Movie/Show title): The Beginning === TCON (Content type): Pop === TCOM (Composer): Stephen Shadowen === TPE3 (Conductor/performer refinement): === TRCK (Track number/Position in set): 11/12 === TYER (Year): 2010 === COMM (Comments): ()[eng]: Amazon.com Song ID: 219595395 === TPE2 (Band/orchestra/accompaniment): Black Eyed Peas === TCOP (Copyright message): (C) 2010 Interscope Records === TPOS (Part of a set): 1/1 === APIC (Attached picture): ()[, 3]: image/jpeg, 100916 bytes === COMM (Comments): (ID3v1 Comment)[XXX]: Amazon.com Song ID: 21959539 *** mp3 info MPEG1/layer III Bitrate: 256KBps Frequency: 44KHz When I copy & paste from Firefox into this bug report, I get: Album: ￾吀栀攀 䈀攀最椀渀渀椀渀最 Artist: ￾䈀氀愀挀欀 䔀礀攀搀 倀攀愀猀 Band/Orchestra: Black Eyed Peas Composer: Stephen Shadowen Genre: ￾倀漀瀀 Year: 2010
