When attempting to select Lock to Portrait mode from Eastman-r8317 you must back completely out of the app to get it to take effect. 

This is not the case when you deselected Lock to Portrait Mode. Only when you choose to select Lock to Portrait Mode under settings/advanced/Screen Layout

Discovered this on the Droid (Android 2.2.2) and Droid 2 (Android 2.2)
