Bugzilla – Bug 1703
ISO-8859-1 accented file/directory names
Last modified: 2008-08-18 10:54:16 UTC
Hi, I've got a problem with ISO-8859-1 encoded accented file names and directory names. They don't show up at all on the SlimServer. My environment: slimserver-2005_06_21-1 Red Hat 9 Linux home.pere.net 2.6.10 #1 Tue Jan 25 09:34:18 CET 2005 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux This is perl, v5.8.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi (root@home) ~ # locale charmap ISO-8859-1 (root@home) ~ # echo $LC_CTYPE en_US.ISO-8859-1 (root@home) ~ # echo $LANG en_US.ISO-8859-1 If I do an "ls" I get, for example: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3237180 Mar 22 20:54 02 - Antnia Font - Vitamina Sol.mp3 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jun 21 23:20 Antnia But then if I search on the slimserver webpage I don't see the files or the directories at all I've also tried this on a vmware'd Fedora Core 4 running UTF-8 with exactly the same file/dir names (tar'ed up and scp'ed across) and I was able to see the file names and the directory names (even though they're ISO-8859-1 encoded). However, I could not browse through a directory that contained an accented character. Nothing showed up. Thanks,
Dan's working on this one.
potential fix committed at change 3613. please try july 6 nightly build and confirm.
Hi there, Unfortunatedly I no longer have access to that Linux machine. I'm on Windows now (erg!) Thanks anyway, Rgrds,
Ok -I'm going to close this bug then. Thanks.
This bug was marked resolved in Slimserver 6.1, which is several versions ago. If you're still seeing this bug, please re-open it. Thanks!
