Album art not showing on mp3 files after a full rescan of a USB hard drive.

Since firmware upgrade to 7.5.3.r9283, all mp3 album art is missing after a full rescan of an external USB hard drive. It only shows blank space in the albums list and "now playing" screen, instead of album art or the default image (the one showing when album art is missing). The scan does not find the right number of covers (414 instead of 849 in my case) and the ArtworkCache.db cache file is only 30Kb (instead of 9678Kb before). Looking into the 'message' log file in the logs share of the Touch, I find this message repeated as many times as the (incorrect) number of covers detected: Feb 10 19:58:35 squeezeplay: stack traceback: Feb 10 19:58:35 squeezeplay: /usr/share/jive/jive/slim/SlimServer.lua:894: in function </usr/share/jive/jive/slim/SlimServer.lua:884> Feb 10 19:58:47 slimserver.pl: [11-02-10 19:58:47.9365] Slim::Web::Graphics::__ANON__ (295) Artwork resize for music/2a41ef90/cover_40x40_m failed Feb 10 19:58:48 squeezeplay: ERROR squeezebox.server.cache - SlimServer.lua:894 _getArtworkThumbSink(/music/038c0237/cover_40x40_m) error: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error All covers (stored as a folder.jpg file in each album folder) are showing without any trouble in previous version 7.5.1.r9218 of the firmware, and downgrading to this version and rescanning makes the problem disappear. The new beta version 7.5.4.r9302 was tried and has the same bug. Apparently, this bug doesn't affect FLAC files, for which covers appear correctly. One more thing just to make things clear. This bug doesn't only concern the full rescan of a USB hard drive, it also appears on all mp3 album added to an existing database (build with older firmwares) subsequently to the firmware upgrade to 7.5.3.r9283. These albums don't have any album art either.

You say "MP3 embedded artwork was not being read properly", but the bug described here is about covers stored as a folder.jpg file in each album folder, and not about embedded artwork (which is also known not to work for quite some time). So I hope the correction you made will really fix the bug described here :^)
I think it's both... My encounter with this bug: After upgrading to 7.5.3 and doing a complete rescan (deleted .squeezebox folder) my Touch using TinySBS and a USB HDD no longer shows artwork for any mp3 files. I have embedded art (500 x 500 or smaller, jpg) in all full albums as well as in many 'singles', and a folder.jpg of the same image in each full album's folder. All my flac files (singles or full albums) show artwork, as they did before. In previous versions of TinySBS, mp3 full albums would show artork and singles would not. In TinySBS 7.5.3, no mp3 files show art. BTW, is the fix mentioned supposed to be in the latest nightly 7.5.4 build?
Nope, the 7.5.4 doesn't include the fix, as I mentioned in my initial posting : "The new beta version 7.5.4.r9302 was tried and has the same bug"
