Description Jeff 2011-02-10 17:39:45 UTC
Since upgrading to 7.5.3, I'm having this issue with two different SB3s:

1. When turning on the unit and attempting to browse the library, I will get the "Can't connect to library..." message. Waiting a few seconds will usually sort things out, but this seems to be a fairly consistent, repeatable occurrence.

2. I have also seen the message come up on the players when trying to control them via the web UI.

3. Playing "Never played albums" via Dynamic Playlists/Custom Skip occasionally adds an album to the playlist, skips to the last track (which may or may not play) and does not add any more albums.

4. Alarm is hit and miss. I usually wind up getting the backup alarm beep, presumably because as soon as the SB3 turns on it has the above alleged network connectivity issue.

5. Radio Paradise seems to go silent from time to time. I'm not 100% sure that the Squeezebox is at fault in this case.

I have not noticed issues with the my Touch or Radio, but don't use them as often.

I *think* the following is the log message from the last time I experienced #1 above--can't swear to it, but the timing seems right:

[11-02-09 19:32:09.0446] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_players_error (308) Unable to get players from SN: Connect timed out: , retrying in 300 seconds

Have now also noticed that even when the player is turned off it will occasionally flash the "Can't connect..." message briefly.

I've the same issues.

It looks for me that it happens when the SB tries to switch to the screen saver and when I stop menue browsing. It disconnets when the screensaver would normally activates.

Internet Stream stopped with cannot connect to server.

I saw during playback (local songs) that the SB goes blank (still playing the song) and than it showed me for few seconds the path of the file playing and switched back to normal screen saver.

SBS is shut down and the SB3 do not go to blank screen after 30 seconds, it shows the cannot connect to server message and sometimes it completly reconnects to the WLAN.

All this issues can happend but I also operates normal for some time.

I should add that I'm 100% wired. This is not a WiFi issue.

I just saw this happen while a FLAC song was playing. There was no interruption to the audio, but the "Can't connect to server" message appeared on the SB3 when I was accessing the web UI. I immediately checked server.log, but there was no message.

7.5.4 seems to have fixed all of this for me. Thank you very much!

Can this bug report be reopened?
I am still experiencing the "Can't connect..." messages when the squeezebox is turned off, as Jeff reported.
