It would be nice if mysqueezebox.com could be listed as one of the choices on the "Switch library" menu since this menu really represents a choice of the source for listening. The fact that mysqueezebox is a server rather than a database is a distinction without a difference for the listener.

Basically, the user just wants to tell the device "Go to [blank] to get my listening. This change would obviate the need to have another item "Switch to mysqueezebox.com".

Perhaps, but it's still illogical. There is no 'my music' at mysb.com. I've always favored placing the 'Switch to mysb.com' item on the Home menu. It's caused no end of confusion not having it available, and there are many instances where you want to explicitly switch to mysb.com *before* shutting down a local server.

Jim - I take your point, but I think that we should not get hung up on the words, but instead focus on the functionality. As you yourself note, it would be useful to have the choice on a single menu item. Change the name of the menu item if we must to "Switch Listening Source" and then list the databases and mysqueezebox.com. Whatever. Function over form.

As I think about it some more, this change might also serve and educational function. It could help to obviate some of the terrible confusion that noobs (and even not-so-noobs) have about the distinction between Squeezebox Server, TinySB, and mysqueezebox.com. (Check out all posts on the forums that are generated by folks who don't understand that there is more than one server, which one they are using, and the implications of changing from one to another.)

Iam certainly one of the not-so-noobs who suffered from this confusion. I have had my SB Radio for nearly a year and half and used only mysqueezebox.com. For Christmas, I was given my heart's desire, a SB Touch, and a USB thumb drive with music.

I switched back and forth between internet radio and the USB drive music. Never having used any of the local server functions before, I did not realize that it was also acting as the conduit for the internet radio stations (I assumed that when I went to internet radio stations it was automatically changing to mysqueezebox.com). It was not until I switched my SB Radio to My Music (which I had never done before) to listen to the USB drive that I began to get a better understanding of this relationship.

At first, I was totally confused. I lost my alarm settings because I had them managed by mysqueezebox.com. I had been using favorites to set the alarm sound, but now I was not offered this option. I now realize it was because I had not set any favorites on the local SB server. My favorites were all set on mysqueezebox.com. I had not set any favorites when using My Music because it did not occur to me that there were two totally different sources of favorites. (At first, since it happened just after a firmware update, I thought it was because the update had broken something.)

You can see from this history, that even relatively long users can get really confused when trying new functionalities on devices as complex as these. It would be really helpful to set up the menus to make the distinctions between the servers as clear as possible. Listing them all under a single menu heading would help.

I own a Squeezebox Boom (2 years) which has very clear instructions on it for switching to the Squeezebox Server or the Squeezebox.com (Windows 7).

On my husband's new Squeezebox Radio (Windows XP) I had to search everywhere to find this option.

If his computer is off, to switch to the .com site you need to go to Favorites and in there is Switch Libraries and it will then allow you to switch it over to .com.........if you want to switch to the Server, I found the ability to switch to the Squeezebox Server (Switch Libraries) in My Music.....?

I don't know if it is so confusing because of the XP OS system.......but to my way of thinking, Switching Libraries or a better name should be Switching Music Source and should be located right in the Home Menu.

Another Issue: My Squeezebox Boom has nothing in Internet Radio.......no options.....no choices.
